Should welfare recipients be required to take drug tests?
Some states have begun to implement required drug tests for welfare recipients. What do you think it about it? Is it necessary or just invasive? If you think it's wrong, what do you think can be done to improve the system? more »
Maybe, they should offer free advice service and detox for welfare recipients or they should require that people who want to receive welfar participate in a short course that informs about drugs and theirs health risks and implications to success in work, family and social life. In such a course they could also teach methods how to avoid drugs and how to get rid of addiction. But in fact, I don't know much about how they deal with this topic in the USA because I'm from Germany. Nevertheless, I hope my comment will be useful for you and please excuse my writing and grammar mistakes... =)
